Dr. Singh is a board certified general internist and Assistant Professor with appointments in the Department of Medicine (General Internal Medicine) and International Health at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and Public Health.  He earned his medical degree from Patna Medical College in India and completed an Internal Medicine Residency at Unity Health System, Rochester, NY and earned a MPH at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.  Dr. Singh's major research interests are in evidence based medicine, drug safety, comparative effectiveness research, shared decision-making and the detection, measurement and risk-benefit assessment of patient oriented outcomes among patients with chronic diseases (type 2 diabetes and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) with a focus on translating evidence into sound public policy. He has published peer reviewed articles on these topics in leading medical journals such asthe JAMA, CMAJ, Archives of Internal Medicine and PloS Medicine.
